Happy 34th Anniversary, Hayato! Today, July 1st, marks the 34th anniversary of Hayato New York Salon.
When we first opened our doors in 1992, we had just two shampoo stations, five styling chairs, and a team of only two people—myself and an assistant named Keiju.
Looking back over the past 34 years, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. Today, Hayato has grown into the Hayato International Salons Group, with salons proudly serving clients in three of the world’s greatest cities: New York, Tokyo, and London.
None of this would have been possible without the passion, dedication, and hard work of the many talented team members who have been part of this journey.
To each and every one of you—thank you. Most importantly, I want to thank our true owners: our guests. Every client who has trusted Hayato over the years has made this journey possible. Because of your continued support, we have been able to do what we love while building meaningful lives and careers.
We will never take that for granted. As members of the Hayato family, we remain committed to learning, growing, and striving for excellence every single day, wherever we are in the world. I have always wanted to return to New York each year to honor where our story began and to remind myself of our roots.
Today, however, my focus is on what I believe is the second chapter of Hayato International Salons—creating even greater opportunities for our team members to grow, succeed, and build their own futures together. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
